In early November, Super Talent has introduced a USB 3.0 key with performance of another world. The RAIDDrive was announced with a maximum throughput of 200MB / s without drivers, and 320 Mb / s with a driver UAS (USB Attached SCSI). Capacity of 32, 64 and 128 GB are available.

The U.S. Company had released a first video presentation of his RAIDDrive USB 3.0 two weeks ago, with few details and the first bench rather recent. A second video, released yesterday, reveals much more information. The key is designed around two NAND controllers multichannel, and a USB 3.0 bridge two channels. Everything is configured as RAID, hence the product name.

A first CrystalDiskMark, achieved by connecting the key in USB 2.0 is already very impressive, the rate of 40 Mb / s about proving that the standard was still a little space and those controllers’ keys were clearly below as possible. With USB 3.0, values fly, 300 MB / s read, over 160 MB / s write, with the block size the more lenient. Random write 4 KB, performance remains respectable, with a value of 1.8 Mb / s, higher than some SSDs can offer! We now eagerly wait to know when and how RAIDDrive USB 3.0 will be sold.
