AMD has just put online a final version of the ATI Stream SDK 2.0, a software development kit to exploit the power of graphics chipsets from AMD to perform certain operations in heavy load, and thus relieving the processor.
Support OpenCL 1.0
Intended for Radeon HD 4000 and 5000 and the FireStream cards and some FirePro this SDK course provides many new features, particularly the full support of OpenCL 1.0 - we note also that AMD has made some changes to the way must be created contexts OpenCL - and OpenCL ICD (Installable Client Driver). This new version is also compatible with Windows XP and Vista 7 (versions 32 and 64 bit) and OpenSUSE 11.0et with Ubuntu 9.04.
To use this SDK, you will also need an x86 CPU that supports SSE3 instructions with the newest hotfix for Catalyst 9.12. AMD also suggest using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 on Windows as well as GNU Compiler Collection (or else the Intel C compiler) under Linux. Attention to download the SDK, you must first register (free) from AMD.
