According to new data from StatCounter, Mozilla Firefox version 3.5 successfully circumvents Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 in the global browser market. Last week, the share of Firefox 3.5 was 21.93% market share, which is slightly higher than the 21.2% IE7. Nevertheless, the total percentage of browsers Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8, it still accounts for more than 55%.

Meanwhile, Firefox 2.0 and 3.0 hold 1.01% and 9.01% of the browser, the share of Safari and Opera accounts for 3.03% and 0.42% respectively. On the "other" browsers has 9.19% of the market, and, presumably, most of this is Google Chrome. The problem with the latter is the excessive number of versions, which, if taken separately, takes up very tiny market share, but the total share of Chrome is quite large (according to some sources, up to 5%).

Not very clear why the data StatCounter different from Net Applications, but in any case, these data provide material for reflection.
