It no longer has the OLPC (One Laptop per Child) that allows residents of countries in the developing world from getting the XO laptop low-cost, planned for kids. A PC frequently circulated for free of charge, as for each copy of XO purchased in developed countries; OLPC has a machine similar to a needy child.

But OLPC does not stop their way and wants to be able to regularly offer new versions of its XO, taking into account the major technological developments of the computer market. Thus, the association unveiled the first images of the prototype of XO 3.0 takes the form of a touch pad. A tablet according to OLPC, may return less than $ 100 to produce by 2012.
