In mid-December, Adobe informed us of the existence of a security flaw in its readers of PDF documents, Acrobat and Reader. The fix which works for Adobe is expected January 12. Unfortunately, hackers have been quicker since a malicious PDF currently circulating on the Web, after a first Trojan was detected from December 16 (Trojan.Pidief.H).
Prudence rigor
And PDF is evil, since according to tests by Virus Total, only 8 antivirus 41 have managed to detect this malware. This program BitDefender, Comodo, F-Secure, Ikarus, Sophos, GData, a-squared and Trend Micro. Widely distributed through spam campaign via e-mail, this PDF is of Chinese origin. Until Adobe releases a fix, we invite users obviously not equipped with any of the above-mentioned virus to appear suspicious, and then either disables JavaScript support in Adobe products or to use another player PDF like Foxit Reader.
