The launch yesterday of new mobile processors Intel Core i7, i5 and i3 "Arrandale" was an opportunity for NVIDIA to unveil a new range of mobile graphics solutions. New range? Not really, this is yet another renaming chip already out, namely the GeForce 200M, unveiled six months ago.
The GT215, GT216 and GT218 know that in these references may therefore appear to be relatively recent, yet they retain the architecture with the G80 launched in late 2006! Small differences, burning in 40 nm, support DirectX 10.1, and GDDR5. The reason for this renaming is undoubtedly the imminent arrival of the mobile versions of the ATI Radeon HD 5000, which will take off on these chips technically outdated. Finally, seven new references appear:
• GeForce GTS 360M (260M GTS a slightly more efficient)
• GeForce GTS 350M (GTS 250M)
• GeForce 335M GT (72 stream processors)
• GeForce 330M GT (GT 240M a slightly more efficient)
• GeForce GT 325M
• GeForce 310M (the G210M)
• GeForce 305M
The marketing team NVIDIA wishes you a beautiful and happy new year 3010!
