Asus has officially launched three new motherboards LGA-1156. The V-P7H57D EVO, EVO P7H55D-M and-M PRO P7H55 are specially designed to be used with Intel Core i7, Core i5, i3 Core and Pentium "Clarkdale" unveiled yesterday. They adopt and, following the reference, new chipsets H55 & H57 Express. This new series of maps has an EPU (Energy Processing Unit) more sophisticated technology combined with GPU Boost; it can manage on the fly overclocking the CPU, but also that of the GPU.
This can be done automatically, according to the load through a small program called Turbo V Utility. Some of these cards are equipped with the new USB 3.0 and Serial ATA to 6 Gb / s, and many ports SATA 3Gb / s, Gigabit LAN and HD Audio. All offer VGA video outputs, DVI and HDMI. As usual, ASUS does not rate, but the date of January 7 next is advanced in terms of availability in stores.
EVGA has meanwhile announced its cards through its forum. Both models are ATX format, provide two PCI Express x16 ATI CrossFireX compatible and two PCIe x1. They offer also eight SATA ports, Gigabit LAN, HD audio, FireWire. For compatibility with older hardware, there is a PS / 2 and three PCI. As for the video outputs, EVGA has decided to offer VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort. Once again, we should have more information this weekend.
