Asus shows at the CES a new motherboard of the Republic of Gamers series and not least, the Rampage Extreme III. It is built around the Intel X58 chipset and is compatible with Core i7 on socket LGA 1366.It offers 4 ports PCI-Express X16 supported by a PLX chip and sufficiently spaced as to accommodate 4 dual slot graphics cards. If so, you can not use the PCI and PCI-Express X4 also present. It also offers support for USB 3.0 via the NEC chip widely used on other motherboards. It also offers two-port S-ATA 6 Gbps managed by the Marvell chip, next to the 6-port S-ATA 3 Gbps.
In terms of inputs / outputs, it is entitled to:
1 PS / 2 keyboard
1 audio S / PDIF
5 USB 2.0 ports
2 USB 3.0 ports
1 Firewire port
1 RJ45 port
1 eSATA port
7.1 audio outputs
Buttons reset the bios and activate the Bluetooth
The cooling Northbridge and Southbridge is entirely passive through the use of very large and flat radiators. This map is obviously dedicated to overclocking with a hefty supply of floor and many points of measurement of the tension. It remains to know its price and availability...
