Asus unveiled at CES these new destination portable players, the G73jh ROG, thus integrating the Republic of Gamers series. It is based on the latest Intel HM55 and can therefore carry a processor Arrandale as recently announced Core i5 540M, 520M or 430M but the Core i7 620M, 720QM, 820QM or 920XM. The most interesting is the level of the graphics as this notebook uses a 17.3-inch chip ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 with 1GB of GDDR5 memory. This laptop can use up to 8GB of DDR3 with the Core i7 and up to 4 GB of DDR3 with the Core i5 and comes with Windows 7 64-bit. The model was set to share with 8 GB of memory and a Core i7 QM 720.

It can accommodate two 2.5 "drives for a total capacity of one terabyte. We should add that it has a combo DVD Super-Multi/Blu-Ray, an audio system Altec Lansing 4.1, 4 USB ports , a RJ45 port, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g, Bluetooth, HDMI output, VGA output, a memory card reader and webcam 2 megapixels. It measures 420x310 mm and a height of 32.6 mm at the lowest point and 49.3 mm at the highest point. Its weight is announced for 4 pounds with a single hard drive and an 8-cell battery.

For this laptop, Asus launches a new chassis forms inspired by the Stealth bomber of the U.S. military. The coating is more like shiny plastic tends but a much classier matte coating very pleasant to the touch. Cooling is particularly studied with two large exhaust grilles on the back of the laptop. The price according to Asus should be between 1,500 and 2,000 euros depending on the embedded components.
