OCZ promotes a miniature external drive with USB 3.0 chip MLC NAND Flash controller and by using Symwave.
At the CES, OCZ launches a small external drive with USB 3.0. Its features are many, starting with the fact that this is not a hard drive but a DSS. Then, it uses a USB controller of origin Symwave (company that OCZ has created a joint venture), the SW6315. The result is a compact disc, thin and stylish design. In terms of performance we have seen running on a Gigabyte X58 motherboard compatible with USB 3.0 and the rates were rather interesting: 182.7 MB / s read and 143.6 MB / s write in Crystal Diskmark.Under HDTach, the sequential read speed was 196.1 MB / s. The demonstration model has a capacity of 128 GB but versions of 64 and 256 GB are also provided. It displays dimensions 56x120x10 mm and a weight of 87.7 grams, with its aluminum hull. Pricing and availability are not yet known.
