Sony is updating its Vaio W, single machine manufacturer can be considered a "netbook" and the company indicates that this new model is a unit "green". Atom N450, etc..

The machine offers a N450 and IGP, which consumes less than the previous trio Atom/i945/ICH7 a hard disk of 250 GB, 1 GB of RAM and of course Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The machine has a screen that consumes little emphasis on the Sony LED backlight slab 10 inches 16:9 (1 366 x 768). Still remember that the majority of netbooks use this type of lighting that is not in itself a novelty, even if consumption is declining. More interestingly, Sony uses recycled plastic for the hull of his machine and the firm does not deliver more than paper manual with the Vaio W:

documentation is available in PDF directly on the device. Both the first point is laudable and needs to change production lines, as the latter should be the norm, and that among all manufacturers.

Otherwise, the Vaio W "eco" weighs 1.32 kilograms, 7 runs on Windows Starter and should provide an 8-h 30, which is correct for the new generation of Atom. While not a revolution in the world of netbooks, generally "green" efforts are commendable Sony.
