While the opponent Intel has issued the graphics chips faster than they can be produced by Nvidia tearing their hair to get all set its new graphics architecture. Fermi who called architecture has become a real in the press where Nvidia talked in relation to the technology, which showed the prototype fake cards as well as gossiped regarding the performance. Throughout CES has also taken the chance to promote off its futureGF100 cards based on the new Fermi-architecture.
The card which physically resembles any other GeForce card at any time appears to be surprisingly compact, about 26cm long, although it has a GPU with full 3 billion transistors. The card is equipped with a power supply that can draw up to 300W which is quite high for single-GPU cards.
Nvidia still gives no clear indications of the cards performance. But we know that we are aiming for the throne in all performance categories. During CES we showed up on its GF100 card in the familiar DirectX 11 test Unigine Heaven but also in a graphics demo with a 3-way SLI configuration of GF100.
Three Fermi-cards is closer to 10 billion transistors in the pure graphics power which is quite remarkable. A video presentation of the Rocket Sled has been posted on YouTube and can be found below.
