Samsung seems to use the term "green" inappropriately with G2 and G3, the hard drives in formats 2.5 and 3.5 inches introduced during the CES 2010. Discs designed without halogen, providing reduced energy consumption and complying with all ROHS standards. Unfortunately, they do not offer USB 3.0 connectivity but are satisfied with USB 2.0 yet. Other specific to these discs, design and coating that looks strong enough to be more pleasant to the touch ... somewhat reminiscent of the LEGO plates of our childhood.

The G2, 2.5-inch format, are presented in 250, 320, 500 and 640 GB as for G3, 3.5-inch format, will be offered in 1TB, 1.5TB as well as 2TB storage capability. They will all come with software to protect data (encryption, passwords and automated backups). These discs are expected in the first quarter of 2010.Their arrival is imminent.
