    Default Imagination declares PowerVR SGX545

Imagination has freshly declared the opening of its most awaited graphics microprocessor, the PowerVR SGX545. Which is well-matched with DirectX 10.1, it also manages the OpenGL ES 2.x as well as OpenGL 3.2, along with the OpenCL 1.0.

The chip and patents are available today to companies wishing to use GPUs or technologies Imagination. Apple seems to be a likely candidate as the PowerVR SGX535 integrates its latest phone, and that Cupertino has invested heavily in the firm in 2009 ("Apple triple its stake in Imagination"). Regarding the performance of the new version, its designer speaks of 40 million polygons per second and a fillrate a gigapixel per second at 200 MHz.
