Known for its DVD recorders and Blu-ray, Plextor has announced the launch of its first SSD. At 2.5-inches, SSD - which has no name yet - uses a Marvell controller and MLC flash memory. It shipped 64 MB cache, uses a 3 Gbps SATA interface and should be available in capacities of 64 GB and 128 GB.

The manufacturer announces flows rather average for this type of product, the order of 110MB / s read and 65MB / s write while the MTBF 1.5 million hours. Expected by the end of this quarter, DSS has unfortunately not yet prices.
