The Nippon Toshiba is preparing its next generation of flash drive...
For some time already that Toshiba produces flash drives, however it is only in recent months that they are actually available in stores, primarily under the brand Kingston. The U.S. manufacturer had entered into an alliance with the Japanese founder some time ago already, so it is the logical continuation of the adventure. We saw recently at CES, Kingston has to offer flash drives based mainly on architecture Toshiba in the coming months. It is interesting to see what the manufacturer with Nippon in 2010.
Toshiba solutions currently available using the second generation of its controllers, coupled with flash memory chips to 50 see 40 nanometers. This year, a third generation product will come with NAND engraved at 32 nm. The Toshiba HG3 offer maximum speeds of 250 Mb / s read and 180MB / s write. They are available with capacities of 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512 GB in a classic format of 2 ½ inches. Versions of "slim" 7 mm thick (instead of 9.5 mm) will also be launched, with a maximum of 256 GB of capacity. These new SSDs are all compatible with the TRIM control of Windows 7, and offer AES encryption.
Not until the second quarter of 2010 for their mass production begins, and probably the back so they are actually available. Toshiba will continue to position its products more accessible than on raw performance, and therefore we understand better why Kingston looks towards SandForce for replacement potential solutions rebadgees Intel...
