The Californian Kingston has unveiled a package offering 24 GB of RAM...

Kingston has unveiled two new memory kits with capacities of 16 and 24 Go! They use it for the modules of 4 GB of DDR-1600 issued by the manufacturer in California a few weeks ago. Remember that they have latencies 9 9-9-27 and a voltage of 1.65 volts. For information, the triple channel memory controller of the Intel Core i7 Socket LGA-1366 supports up to 24GB of RAM (6x 4Gb), while the processors in LGA-1156 supports a maximum of 16 GB, dual channel (4x4 GB). It thus reaches the maximum possible current platforms.

The new kits are Kingston workstations in 64 bits; it will probably take some time for the classic uses a machine requires so much memory. The Californian Company presents two examples that can fill 16 or 24GB, the application of a large number of Photoshop filters on images in high resolution, and the virtualization of many posts on a single machine.

Kingston offers a kit of 16 GB to 885 € and the 24GB kit to 1325 € TTC.
