In the case of Word around who opposes i4i, Microsoft has decided to once again appeal.
New twist in the case between Microsoft Small Business Canadian i4i vis-à-vis the already improperly use twice a patented XML component. Thus, if Microsoft - forced by the U.S. court to remove Word of the sale - has already released a patch removing this feature XML and prepared a revised version of its word processing and its Office suite, the publisher however, decided to call again.
Of course, it is 290 million dollars of damages that should pay Microsoft pushing the Redmond company to call again, hoping that a third trial gave him reason, or at least enough time to negotiate amicably with i4i ... although the small Canadian company is not ready to abandon his pursuit yet. "We expected that Microsoft redo appeal. We continue to be confident and believe they will prove us right," says Loudon Owen, CEO of i4i.
