Microsoft is setting up a tool to easily migrate from MySQL to SQL Server 2005 or else SQL 2008 otherwise Azure, its SQL Server Migration Assistant or else SSMA.

The free software is only Phase 1 Community Technology Preview and can be downloaded from the Microsoft site. It helps to anticipate the steps required for migration and help them move from one system to another. SSMA is compatible with MySQL 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1. Microsoft thus completes its offer when it already has a tool to facilitate the migration from Oracle to SQL databases.
