Nine months after he unveiled a chip 1 GB DDR2 "low power" etched into 54 nm, Hynix recently declared it has built-up a chip with 2 GB of DDR2 memory utilization very low.

Engraved in 40nm, the chip operates with a voltage of 1.2 V only (and is thus consistent with the specifications of JEDEC LPDDR2) and has a bandwidth of 4.26 Gbps. Designed for mobile devices (SmartBooks, other smartphones and tablet PCs), this chip should be mass produced by the second half of the year.
