MSI has launched formally adopting the new solution interfaces SATA 6 Gb / s and USB 3.0. The P55-GD85 adopts the Intel P55 Express chipset; it has a socket LGA 1156 and supports DDR3-2600 on four pitches. It is compatible with processors engraved in 32 nanometers recently launched by Intel. To overclock them at best, MSI has integrated its new map system power DrMOS 8 2 phases. For graphics, you have two PCI Express x16 slots, supporting both SLI and CrossFireX configurations. The P55-GD85 includes Gigabit LAN and HD Audio 7.1 channel; two PCI and two PCIe x1 are also present for purposes of additional extensions.

This new solution P55 operates two Serial ATA ports to 6 Gb / s (with a Marvell chip) along with seven others to 3 Gb / s and an eSATA port. Two USB 3.0 ports found on its rear panel are in turn managed by an NEC chip. PLX Bridge ensures sufficient flow to power two monitors without interfering with the performance of cards placed in the PCIe x16 slots. MSI's motherboard complete with features such as the CB engineering, control points of the voltage V-Check, APS (Active Phase Switching), which reduces consumption in idle, and Power and Reset buttons. The P55-GD85 is visible in Europe for pre-order about 185 euros.
