Like AMD, and nVidia during the exhibition CES to boast about how well their new graphics solutions are capable of reproducing 3D-video. We are not talking about 3D graphics, while the focus of stereoscopic 3D, in all areas, including video games. Manufacturers have demonstrated a new format for Blu-Ray 3D and there are rumors that AMD has done a great job to provide support for this format. It seems the first issue Catalyst drivers this year, Catalyst 10.1, to the end of January will provide support for a wide range of 3D graphics chips for ATI. Unfortunately, the source does not say what model of video card can support playback of 3D-content.

New Catalyst driver will ship with updated drivers Direct3D, which will allow third-party developers to make use of 3D support when you link the display, capable of operating at a frequency of 120Hz. In addition, the new driver version will provide users with support for 3D shutter glasses.

While not known for certain how well stereoscopic 3D technology from AMD, and how does it compare with nVidia 3D Vision Technology. However, AMD does not want to wait with the release of its version of 3D, while nVidia continues to demonstrate support for the Fermi on several monitors, something like Eyefinity. Manufacturers of video cards follow each other almost step in step, and we can only hope that this technology will bring greater competition and better opportunities for us, the end users.
