AMD asserts that NVIDIA PhysX API changed so that it does not take advantage of multiple cores present in the CPU to provide a significant advantage over its GPU.

NVIDIA disables the CPU

As a reminder, Ageia was bought by the Chameleon which has taken possession of the engine firm dedicated to physics calculations (see "NVIDIA Ageia pay and all that goes with it). However, when this acquisition, the API was fairly well optimized for multicore CPUs by Richard Huddy, Manager at AMD. But over time, PhysX would call more than one or two cores up, Mr. Huddy accuses the firm not to worry about the user experience, but to concentrate solely on selling the cards ensuring that the API has the air faster on a GPU on a CPU.

NVIDIA is playing the same game Intel

AMD has not hesitated to compare the problem to that of the Intel compiler, which disables the processor that are not manufactured by the founder of Santa Clara ( "Intel will no longer disable VIA or AMD).
