For many months, the etching process to 40 nanometers in TSMC was suffering from performance anxieties that plagued the production of AMD graphics cards and NVIDIA. In recent weeks the situation was improving, and if we are to believe the latest statements by Mark Liu, senior vice president in charge of operations at the Taiwanese foundry, all problems have now been resolved. The ball is now in the AMD and NVIDIA, who must refine their design to maximize the effectiveness of the latter. With almost one year of experience, the Texas firm is probably close to achieving maximum efficiency, with respect to the chameleon, as we have seen recently; there is still some way to go...
