Sony Europe has just lifted the veil on its new ultraportable, the Vaio Z. This computer features a 13.3-inch screen is compact, it measures 210 x 23.8-32.7 x 314 mm with a weight of less than 1.45 kilograms. The slab of 33.3 centimeters team that this new VAIO is impressive, it offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) or 1600x900 pixels. It is backlit by LEDs, which should ensure measured power consumption.
Sony has not only treat the outside of his new baby, under the hood we find a dual-core processor Intel Core i7-520M (2.4 GHz) or 620M (2.66 GHz), 4 or 6 GB of DDR3 - 1066, and NVIDIA GeForce 330M GT (48 SP, 1 GB GDDR3) which may be extinguished in favor of the solution integrated Intel HD, an action that will save the battery and thus increase battery life. The storage will be provided by four SSD configured in RAID0 (128 or 256 GB of total capacity). Despite its small size, the VAIO Z includes a DVD burner, but also a webcam and a fingerprint reader. The connectivity of this machine is complete with WiFi N, Bluetooth 2.1, and 3G.
It is unclear when the new VAIO Z is available. Regarding prices, the current generation starts to 1699 € TTC, and it is hard to sell Sony's new ultraportable dream cheaper...
