AMD has unveiled a new graphics card for embedded systems

AMD has benefited from Digitimes Tech Forum (DTF) 2010 being held in Taiwan to present the ATI Radeon MXM e4690. This graphics card, which as its name suggests is the MXM format, covers the market for embedded systems. The use of these machines are very diverse, they range from medical and military fields to arcades and slot machines. The new little beast AMD supports DirectX 10.1 and includes 320 stream processors and 512 MB of GDDR3.

The UVD engine 2 of the Radeon could be very useful for computers that need to manage video streams while being energy efficient. AMD builds on the performance and flexibility of the solution leaving the choice of frequencies (and therefore consumption) to the end user, and offering many video outputs (DVI / DisplayPort / HDMI / LVDS). Note also that the e4690 Radeon MXM is compatible with ATI Stream. AMD communicates relatively low sales of this type of module, it is unclear whether the manufacturer meets the success or not. One imagines, however, without harm he has probably the most effective solutions in the industry.
