Previously, AMD had planned to release the first six-core processor, aimed at desktop computers, somewhere in the third quarter of this year. The source reports that the AMD processor, codenamed "Thuban, according to recent data from AMD, will appear in May this year. The upcoming 45nm Phenom II X6 has 6Mb cache L3, integrated memory controller and, presumably, can boast HyperTransport 6.4GT / s and power 95Vt/125Vt, depending on the model. Frequencies of the new processors are still unknown.

If new information is untrue, then the processor will Thuban two months after the official announcement of the new six-core processor Intel Core i7 980X (Gulftown).
