At the end of last year, Seagate finally entered the market of flash storage, presenting a series of solid-state disk Pulsar. A well-known manufacturer of hard drives underestimates the SSD on the market today, and why so late, presented their own solutions based on flash memory, besides not focused on customer segment, and the use of corporate systems. But now the manufacturer is taking another step in the direction and announces partnership with LSI to develop and mass production SSD Interface PCI-Express.

It is estimated that LSI is all set to offer design-level PCI boards, which will get the technology PCIe as well as SAS technology of solid-state drives, currently in use Seagate. As judge against conventional solutions with SATA interface SSD with a PCIe interface to a number of benefits, with faster as well as troublfree integration into enterprise computing systems.

Manufacturers believe that the new device will compete directly with the decisions of companies such as OCZ, who introduced the discs, Z-Drive p88 with removable flash module MLC NAND, and with the Fusion-IO. Unfortunately, Seagate and LSI announced so far only the beginning of cooperation. Currently there are no data on specific products, the expected performance, availability and price.
