Microsoft has released its financial results for its second fiscal quarter, which ended December 31, 2009, and the least we can say is that Windows 7 is a blessed manna.
Very good financial results
Redmond has accumulated a turnover of 19.02 billion dollars (about 13.61 billion euros), an increase of 14% over the same period last year. Its profits were 6.66 billion dollars (about 4.77 billion euros), representing an increase of 60%.
Windows 7 is very profitable
Windows 7 is largely responsible for his good numbers. Not only the financial results include revenues generated by the upcoming releases of Windows 7 and program updates, which totaled 1.71 billion dollars (about 1.22 billion euros), but it is officially the OS that was sold soon in history with 60 million copies already in nature. It is therefore a record quarter for the Windows division.
