The next generation of chipsets from Intel, which is simply called "6 series Intel Express", will appear in the first quarter of 2011. These chipsets will be needed for 32nm processors Sandy Bridge and finally will provide support for SATA 6Gbit / s without any third-party chip manufacturers.
Since the memory controller built into the processor, as well as the mapping function and some audio features, Northbridge for Intel is not so much problems, but still do not know whether Intel will be able to build them all in the 6 Series chipsets, or should expect two chips supplementing the processor, that is the continuing use of the classical design of the platform, with three chips.
The code name for the new chipsets ─ Cougar Point. One can only hope that support for USB 3.0 will also be embedded in them.
