The U.S. Micron has assembled a future generation of DDR3, and proclaimed the acquisition of Numonyx...

Micron has announced having co-developed with Nanya chip of 2Gb (256MB) DDR3 engraved to 42 nanometers. This new generation of new exploits and metals including copper to improve its reliability and its cost of production. Micron announced it is working on chips that will be engraved 3X nm. The objective of the "X" is probably to avoid a comparison with Samsung recently launched the chips at this level of finesse.

The 2Gb chip today runs at 1866 MHz at a voltage of 1.35 volts. It can therefore be used to manufacture modules LV-DDR3 16GB Mass production will begin in the second half of 2010.
