Seagate has launched its new hard drive business, the Savvio 10K.4. At 2.5-inches, it will offer capacities of 450 and 600 GB, and operate at 10 000 revolutions per minute. This HDD has a cache of 16MB and is available with SAS interface to 6 Gb / s, or Fiber Channel 4 Gb / s. Its average response time is 3 milliseconds and its maximum sustained throughput of 141 Mb / s.

Seagate will offer a variation equipped with many security options (mainly self-encryption). This hard drive is the first to achieve an MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) of 2 million hours. It is guaranteed for 5 years. It is unclear when and at what rates the Savvio 10K.4 will be sold. It is now time to launch your Pulsar Seagate sir!
