The team responsible for developing KDE released the final version 4.4.0 (also known by the codename "Caikaku") of the famous desktop environment for the Linux and Unix systems. Based on Qt 4.6, KDE 4.4 provides a number of improvements over the previous version.

The Plasma workspace and has a new interface and new features (eg sharing of widgets across the network), and a special version for netbooks appeared. Note also a new chronological and integrated research at Dolphin file manager and the appearance of miniatures on records with image viewer Gnenview. New applications are finally emerging. Examples include Blogilo (a client notes published on blogs), Akonadi (storage management and research files) or Kauth (authentication framework). Many bugs (7293 exactly!) Have finally been corrected.

It remains only to wait for different distributions include this new version of KDE. For the more impatient, it is always possible to retrieve the packages on the kde.org site...
