LaCie offers its rugged external hard drive for several years now. Intended by Neil Poulton, this storage solution 2 1 / 2 inches is changing today with the arrival of self-powered eSATA connectivity. Measuring 90 x 145 x 25 mm for a weight of 239 grams, the durable rubber shell includes a hard disk of 500 GB at 7,200 rpm.

Remember that this all very solid, conforming to MIL-STD-810, enables it to withstand a fall of over two meters tall. The new LaCie reached a speed of 36 Mb / s USB 2.0, and 90 MB / s eSATA. The French company publishes on its website a list of computers and motherboards compatible with Power Over eSATA. 3-year warranty, the Rugged eSATA is available now and costs of 149 € TTC.
