Just lay your hands on a copy of the future M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard from ASUS. This solution and its little sister, M4A89GTD PRO, represent the foremost two versions of the Taiwanese producer based on the AMD 890GX chipset. The map unveiled today supports AMD processors socket AM3, including those with a TDP of 140 watts achieved, due to the presence of not less than 10 CPU power phases. The four DDR3 slots are in turn fed by two phases. The AMD 890GX IGP primarily offers superior performance, but still compatible with DirectX 10.1 (Shader Model 4.1).
The SB850 Southbridge is more interesting since it offers the first native implementation of Serial ATA to 6 Gb / s. A controller adds a JMicron eSATA and PATA, while a chip NEC μPD720200 offers two USB 3.0 ports (it is not present on the M4A89GTD PRO). The extensibility is provided by two PCI Express x16, one PCIe x4, one PCIe x1 and two PCI slots. The rear panel of the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 features of video outputs, HDMI, VGA and DVI, as well as Gigabit LAN connectivity and HD audio 8.2 channels.
