OpenPeak has unveiled its OpenTablet of 7 inches. This solution competing with Apple iPad is designed around a SoC (System-on-chip) Intel Atom Moorestown. The little beast of U.S. manufacturer does not exceed 15 mm thick (dimensions of 22.9 x 12.7 centimeters) for a weight of 520 grams. It connects to the world via WiFi, Bluetooth, or 3G, and includes no less than two webcams! The OpenTablet has a microSD slot and a USB port and a headphone jack. Its LED backlit screen is multi-touch; no one knows what kind of technology is used.
According to Dan Gittleman, Chairman of OpenPeak, "this all-in-one can synchronize their calendar, find out about schedules of films at the cinema, listening to music, watch video, s inform me about the weather, and even monitor the energy consumption of his home.
