With Catalyst 10.3 (in March 2010, therefore), AMD should (finally) provide a support for relief with its graphics cards. Unlike NVIDIA, which developed a complete environment, AMD should use the services of third parties, such as DDD and iZ3D. Specifically, AMD will offer a less restrictive level material (there will be several distributors) but a priori less polished, developers of another company code involved. For now, one thing seems certain: a display device capable of working at 120 Hz (actually, not like TV) is a priori necessary. In the present state of things, there are two models with a slab of 22 inches (1 680 x 1 050), model 24-inch Full HD (1 920 x 1 080), projectors and some televisions (based on projection technology).
The main problem AMD faces is the support. NVIDIA has worked extensively with developers (we saw with the latest installment of Batman and his support of the AA ...) and support the relief in games is not trivial, adjustments are often necessary for correct rendering (including management of objects in 2D like viewfinders).By delegating this issue to other companies, AMD could create a clear distinction between games in relief for NVIDIA and others, the company's chameleon with a great strike force in this area.
But let's not be alarmist, AMD has often used to very good surprises and the solution to the advantage of finally being more open than that of NVIDIA, which is not bad.
