LSI offers a new range of chips for devices that must handle data-intensive parallel, but each requires a low computing power (eg VoIP).The range includes two new StarPro references.

StarPro2704 and 2716

The StarPro2704 has four DSP at 750 MHz (SC3400e), dedicated to processing video and audio, and a 11MP ARM processor has two cores (375 MHz). The whole is supported by 6 MB of internal memory, two Ethernet controllers (capable of achieving 2.5 gigabits / s) and one PCI-Express (two lines 2.0). Finally, a memory controller supporting DDR3 memory is the game. StarPro2716 The chip uses the same base, but multiplies the power: it has 16 DSP (instead of four) and eight processors ARM (or sixteen cores total). The "chipset" is identical with cons.

LSI does not use chips, but the internal architecture and relatively low frequencies indicate that it is a priori measured. LSI is essentially the embedded world with its new chips.
