Data given below utilized by Rescuecom to compute dependability scores for 2010 Computer Reliability Report:

As for how it appears with these rankings:

Rescuecom decides reliability of company by evaluating their market share of shipped PCs, weighed versues percentage of PC support calls Rescuecom controls for that similar company. Higher scores give best reliability. Reliability is attributed to mixture of two regions: quality of parts utilized by company, and success of after sale support given by company. Low-quality parts causes often repair and need of manufacturer support will cause customers seeking outside support options like Rescuecom.

Obviously reliability ranking does not account for users who face problems but enlist services of OEM. E.g. those facing problems with Mac select to deal with Applecare despite of Rescuecom, which would not be tracked in above mentioned report.
