Gigabyte has released their flagship motherboard for the P55 chipset platform, the GA-P55A-UD7. Continuing in the UD7 tradition (after the launch of the GA-X58A-UD7), the GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD7 adds features for power users and gaming devotees. These contain a 24 phase power design, NVIDIA 3-Way SLI/ATI CrossFireX, support for SATA 3.0 (6Gbps), USB 3.0, and 3x USB Power Boost (unique to Gigabyte).

The GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD7 features their "Ultra Durable 3" design, with 2 small amount copper for both the Power and Ground layers to allow lower system temperature, better energy efficiency and improved constancy for overclocking. The GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD7 also features GIGABYTE Smart 6 technology - a combination of 6 software program that are claimed to give easier and smarter PC system management for better system performance, faster boot-up time, safe platform management, and simple system recovery with a single mouse click.

Two statements ready by Gigabyte's launch possibly of interest to enthusiasts which we have replicated here. "The P55A-UD7 obtained a number of world records even before it’s official launch as well as a 1st place SuperPi score of 5.944 seconds and a 1st place PiFast score of 13.42 seconds with the Intel Core i5 670 at 7,098MHz and 6,906MHz correspondingly. Also, the extreme bandwidth necessary for 3-Way SLI ability is made possible by an onboard NVIDIA NF200 chip that permits the P55A-UD7 to deliver the ultimate in graphics performance for gaming enthusiasts who demand the highest frame rates without compromising on resolution. Additional bandwidth is given by GIGABYTE 333 Onboard Acceleration with onboard SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and Serial ATA 6Gbps from NEC and Marvell, providing the P55A-UD7 with a large amount of graphics and data bandwidth at given time."
