Netgear has just introduced two new NAS systems for SMEs, the ReadyNAS 3100 ReadyNAS 4200, each of which can handle up to 500 users.
For the needs of a medium sized company
The 3100 is a 1U rack with four bays and four SATA channels for a total capability of 4 TB or 8 TB by model. The 4200 is about him a 2U rack features the tripling of the first and ipso facto the space available. Both are certified to run on VMware hypervisors and the NAS is managed by the OS ReadyNAS RAIDiator built on Linux. The 4200 is also the first of the ReadyNAS family to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet, while the latter is the only 1U rack less than $ 5 000 (approx. € 3 650) using standby power.
Launched in April
Prices in euros are not yet known, but we expect the two systems for the month of April. The ReadyNAS 3100 is expected to be sold at $ 3 800 (approx. € 2 800), against $ 10 000 (approx € 7 300) for the ReadyNAS 4200 is aimed at larger companies.
