Netbook pioneer Asustek PC revealed its primary e-reader, DR-900, at Cebit electronics show going in Hanover, Germany.

DR-900 has thin, 9-inch e-reader screen and contains Wi-Fi and elective 3G wireless connectivity, company said. The e-reader is intended to make sure batteries can last through 10,000 page turns, or around 20 or 30 novels. "We researched habits of people who use e-readers and think reading comfort and battery life are two key factors," the company said.

A company delegate said cost for e-reader has not yet determined, nor when Asustek start global sales. Asustek CEO, Jerry Shen, said e-reader probably be launched to market during Computex electronics show in Taipei this June. And Asustek intended to work with content providers in launching e-reader.

Asus introduces Slimmer Netbooks

Asus, looks to have latest netbook each month, is show three new this week at Cebit, the huge tech trade show in Hannover, Germany.

Probably moist inventive is Eee PC Prime 1018P, which has 10.1 inch LED screen but is only seven tenths of inch thick. The 1018P is covered in aluminum, and send in 4 colors. Its aspects contain support for USB 3.0 and fingerprint reader.
