The world’s largest chip maker company Intel corp. has declared its latest server chips continue its power over its competitor Advanced Micro Devices.
According to the source, the new microprocessors can give power to both servers and high-end desktop computers, along with satisfying an expected increase in the demand.
The new server chips, which are based on Intel’s Xeon product line for servers, feature smaller transistors to offer stronger performance along with given that better energy competence.
The chipzilla also included that the Xeon processor 5600 series come with integral security aspects to encode and decode files much faster. The chips are launched under the company’s Core i7 for desktop PC’s, which means the entertainment and video game markets can utilize the chips for developed high end systems.
Though, the new chips can also power servers. According to IDC, the research firm, 9 out of 10 of the world's servers include an Intel brain.
To counter Intel’s lead, AMD will launch its latest chips by next week.
