Mozilla has determined to end creation of edition of Firefox mobile Web browser for Windows Mobile. Because Microsoft has stopped entry of local programs on smart phones running its new Windows Phone 7 Series software, said by Stuart Parmenter, director of Mobile Engineering at Mozilla Corporation, in blog.
Mozilla was gearing up to create edition of Firefox for Windows Mobile, and improvement work Mozilla has completed on Windows CE 6 has left it "well placed to have good browser on Windows Phone 7," as said by Parmenter. But lack of software development kit for local applications created it unworkable for Mozilla to progress.
Microsoft only supports improvement of applications running in Silverlight runtime surroundings, or games in XNA Game Studio runtime surroundings, it stated last week. It won’t permit third party application developer straight access to phone's hardware, where they may be able to use its potential.
Parmenter trusts that Microsoft gives Mozilla with method to build Firefox for Windows Phone 7 Series. Mozilla believes Windows Phone 7 looks attractive and has possible to do well in market, as said by Parmenter. Firefox for Android is only pre-alpha edition, means it is in beginning stages of improvement, as said by Mozilla. This edition optimized for Motorola's Droid and Google's Nexus One.
