Victorinox has announced to offer approximately EUR 110 000 to a team of hackers "professional" if they could break the protections built into the new key to the firm.

Coverage impressive
The firm has managed to attract the attention of the press about his new Swiss Army knife integrating a knife, a chisel, a screwdriver, a loop for key ring, a white LED and especially a USB key called "unbreakable". To recall, the company had organized a related event during the last CES. The hackers are still left empty handed, either Las Vegas or London, held the press conference for the new product from Victorinox.

The key uses encryption AES 256-bit hardware and a system of fingerprint recognition heat measuring temperature to detect whether the finger was cut by hand. It also has a mechanism to melt the controller and memory when trying to open the key.

Vulnerability of the chair-keyboard interface
If the circumstance of the advertisement is impressive, you also know that security experts have been able to spend two hours with the key and if no fault has been discovered yet, no system is foolproof. Furthermore, when we know a majority using "123456" as password, we say that there is more than a simple electron microscope to access information from a storage medium.

Victorinox sells models ranging from 8 GB (around 55 €) and 32 GB (around 200 €). Prices are for the time given in sterling.
