Microsoft enthused up some assumption on Monday with requests to strange press event on April 12. The invitations, sent by mail in circular packages, aspect the message "It's time to share," with invitation to secrecy event. As said by author of Windows Phone Secrets Blog, Paul Thurrott, event centered on revealing of new Microsoft smartphone platform "Pink."
Two latest phones, code name "Pure" and the "Turtle," are expected to reveal at event. Both phones were intended by Danger makers of T-Mobile Sidekick handset and made by Sharp. Images of Pure and Turtle leaked in September of previous year, and specs were leaked just last month. Recent leak, came from Gizmodo, OS on both phones is, like Windows Phone 7 and Zune OS, depending on Windows CE.
Latest phones target younger crowd at which Sidekick was firstly targeted. As Sidekick alert more on texting and less on media, latest phones are predictable to feature social networking support for Twitter and Facebook crowd, with Zune music service. These phones are not predictable to run Windows Phone 7; they run personalized version of Danger OS. ZDNet also advises that there are two other phones in works, code-named "Lion" and "Pride." All Pink phones predictable to launch on Verizon network, with rumored tagline: "Make network more social."
Few pundits are speculating that MS also first appearance is it real or not dual-screen tablet, dubbed "Courier," week after Apple's iPad release. Though, it's probably that we see new phones. Thurrott thinks so, writing on his blog that future event is "not a Courier event."
Microsoft completed work of drumming up assumption with its strange event invitations, but Apple looks to be pulling ahead: Apple declared Monday that it gives public sneak peek of iPhone OS 4.0 on April 8, just four days before Microsoft's event.
