Apple has launched its tablet this weekend, but its competitors are not unemployed: information on the HP tablet, the Slate have been published. The tablet in question is - in practice - a netbook: it is animated by an Atom Z530 (1.6GHz) and Poulsbo chipset and it uses a screen of 10 inches x 1 024 600, an interesting format for movies but way to use website. The graphic is the Intel GMA 500, aka PowerVR SGX535, as in many smartphones and iPad, a chip comp in functionality, but slow in 3D, which has especially large benefits to decode the HD formats. An HDMI output via the dock is also the party, which is an advantage.
The tablet offers interesting features: an SD card reader, USB 2.0 connector, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G in-house, a GPS and two cameras. The first, the facade is a simple VGA sensor, the other on the back side has a 3 megapixel sensor.
Windows 7 with an overlay HP to offer an interface more suited to a tablet, the Slate is a real PC. That leaves two unknowns: the type of tile and real autonomy. Indeed, a TN would be a good choice for a tablet that is used in different positions from those of a typical PC), and a battery of 30 who seems a bit low for the autonomy announced.
