AMD has announced a new professional graphics, the FirePro V8800. This card is the first to use the technology of the Radeon 5000 and it mainly offers the opportunity to take advantage of Eyefinity with four video outputs.
About DisplayPort
The map is based on the same chip as the Radeon HD 5870 and operates at the same frequency (850 MHz). It therefore proposes 1 600 stream processors (320 vec5) and memory GDRR5 is coupled to the card. From 1 GB to 1 200 MHz on the consumer version, it goes to 2 GB to 1 150 MHz. The card uses Eyefinity course, with four trips DisplayPort interface to support up to four screens of 30 inches. Note that maps public use or a combination of DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort is the Mini DisplayPort as here the card directly using the standard DisplayPort advantage.
Otherwise, the card has drivers dedicated to the professional world, connectors provided for the synchronization of images and other unnecessary functions to the general public and it is obviously at a high price proposed (requiring certification): $ 1 499. Finally, note the assumption, still in beta, the OpenGL 3.3 and OpenGL 4.0.
