It's been almost two years that Intel dominates the market thanks to the SSD X25 (G1 out in summer 2008 followed a year later G2). From resting on its laurels, so Intel is currently developing the next generation of its SSD, known by the codename Lyndonville.
We guess that the compatibility SATA 6 Gb / s will be part of innovation. The Lyndonville also adopt the flash memory etched 25 nm, instead of the 34 nm X25-M current. Three models are planned: 100GB, 200GB and 400GB flow rates achieved are still unknown, but given the success of the first X25, it is reasonable to expect wonders from Intel. Expected early 2011, Lyndonville probably will unveil more details at IDF this fall.
