NVIDIA might propose the second variation of its GeForce GTX 480 from 1 June. This map, called GeForce GTX 460 is equipped with 1 GB of memory on 256-bit and would compete with the Radeon HD 5850 in price. Following the logic of the passage of the GTX 480 and GTX 470, GTX 460 is equipped with only 13 functional DMs or 416 stream processors, 52 texturing units and 32 ROPs. The card would be even much faster than the GeForce GTX 200 family of NVIDIA but would improve a little too yields without reducing performance. In addition, bus 256-bit classic is also expected to simplify the PCB.

It remains to see frequencies of the card and especially consumption, the major weakness of the family Fermi.
